I’ve been learning Chinese for years and still use Pleco every day. I recommend buying the extensive stroke order add-on. No intrusive ads either which is so refreshing in this day and age. I don’t know how I’d live without Pleco.

I cannot fathom learning Chinese without this app. If you are serious about Chinese you should use this app.

This dictionary is excellent it does simplified and traditional characters. Finds definitions that other dictionaries do not include the add on features are very useful and worth the extra cost, I use the OCR and works well. You can type your search or write it. It is very fast on an iPhone or iPad. Too bad it won’t go into a Kindle reader.

I recommend to buy all the Cantonese dictionaries and flashcard features

This is the best Chinese learning/dictionary app available. The ease of use is unparalleled, the OCR is excellent, the additional content provides endless articles at varying levels. It seems like everything in the app is personalizable. This app is simply the best, I cannot overstate how integral Pleco has been to my Chense language learning over the last 10 years.

This is an amazing app and a great resource for learning and lookup. I am especially grateful that they are not gouging customers with subscription fees for basic functions making it absolutely worth purchasing. Absolutely the best dictionary available. BUT I’m so annoyed it doesn’t sync between devices. I’ve tried several times to get the flashcards from my phone onto my ipad, but it doesn’t work. And you can’t sync lookup history. If it had this connectivity, it would be 5 stars.

This is hands down the most vital app for serious Chinese students and people wanting to use Chinese regularly and seriously. I lived in China 13 years and hardly a day went by when I didn’t use it at my desk or on the street. Can’t say enough good about it. I began learning Chinese nearly five years ago and have used Pleco regularly since the start of my journey. The professional upgrade is more than worth the cost, and the additional dictionaries are stellar. I cannot recommend this app enough to any Chinese learner.

So, I was on the app and I was looking at words. I searched up “because”, and it gives me the answer. But when I try to draw it in my notes app (I use traditional), it shows me the same box, but its the character for “woman” inside the box. So I want an answer, is it simplified or traditional?
