I used MyFitnessPal a few years ago with great success. It was so nice to be able to scan things quickly to add food accurately. Recently I came back to get back on track and now I see that to be able to scan you have to pay. I understand prices go up for things I just appreciated being to scan like I did precisely.
  • Everything locked behind paywall.

This app could be great and just offer to get rid of ads for a one time purchase. However, 70% of the features are locked behind a VERY expensive yearly subscription.

Update: support emailed me. I waited a couple of days to respond, but thought I'd better try it again first. It works fine now! Original: The latest update doesn't work on my iPad. iOS 17.6.1. The app won't open....it just spins on "logging in".

Great app for macros, best part is that it is free.

This is not for app novice or medium skill users. Offers a lot but even just tracking meals is complex

Excellent tool to help keep track of your progress and goals. Tracks my food so I can keep track and watch for consistency and I get to see how my food intake is, calorie’s etc. using this tool along with diet and exercise I have lost 60+ pounds in twelve months without any medication or surgery. Great tool but sometimes it doesn’t want to load.

Used to be very helpful in tracking calories, but had to pay to get perks. Now, you have to pay to even be able to scan packaging for calories. I have done both ways and this is a huge setback if can’t always afford app. (I have used it as a member and not as a member. )
