  • Why A Soft Ding for Hazard Ahead Alert?

    Just noticed today (4/18/24) that the alert for “Hazard Ahead” is no longer a woman’s voice but a soft ding. Sounds like my vehicle is alerting me to something seriously wrong. When in fact it’s the new alert that there’s a car on the side of the road. After eight or so years of using Waze and being accustomed to certain alert sounds, is you’ve changed it so much I don’t know what it means until I take my eyes OFF the road to read the silent alert. Commuter nightmare!

    Been using Waze for 9 years now! I’m on and off w/ Google Maps. I miss Waze’s friend feature, sad they got rid of it. It was actually pretty cool. 4 stars because connectivity seems to be an issue sometimes and if not, the only issue I have (and that’s the reason I hop back n forth w/ Google Maps). Other than that, Waze is the app to use. Their features are better and more user friendly accessing the play by play directions like Map Quest back in the days lol. Google, I’d have to click like 3 diff things to see the step by step route vs Waze I can just click the name of the street and it’ll pull down! Download this app tho

  • App keeps freezing

    For almost an entire month, the app has not been working. It keeps freezing when I enter my destination and try to start the GPS. I’m very disappointed. The latest update did not help at all. I did the update about two days ago. if it keeps freezing like this, it might mean that they need to increase the amount of bandwidth their servers can take.

    I really love Waze for all the assistance it gives, there’s a big problem.. I intentionally set the settings to avoid tolls..well it actually tries to direct me to tolls and it even tries to get you on toll passing my exit and redirecting me to follow tolls. It’s pretty irritating. Please fix.

    I really appreciate this app. My sister told me about it. I used it when I traveled to Manchester, New Hampshire. Really smooth navigation. My one issue that I have when I first started this app it had master chief voice. That was the only one I used. Please bring it back.It’s a awesome feature.

  • Too Difficult…

    For the most part, I love this app. Love that it has more real up-to-the-minute traffic data, and I love to add data/info/hazards, as well. But some features are difficult to click while driving. When I try to make a closure, it’s too hard to select the specific street/exit/ramp etc that is closed. The app tells you to click an arrow indicating the direction of the closure, and it’s a really small target, and sometimes the arrows overlap. They need to fix this problem.

    Waze is the most intrusive app I’ve ever seen. Putting the app to “Sleep” mode means absolutely nothing when using CarPlay. I don’t want to start the app automatically. It’s good to use while driving on the highway and when I chose to use it. It should be illegal and I’m sure it’s not, for an app to start even when you don’t want it to. A user shouldn’t have to play games with other apps just to keep Waze from opening. This app is not humanity’s gift, so the app developers need to stop treating it as if it is. An update to turn this app OFF needs to happen immediately.
