  • This app is pointless now

I used to read articles on Pocket while on airplanes, in “Airplane Mode”. I thought that’s why Pocket was originally created, to store webpages to read offline. Now, it says it can’t display the page because you are offline. And once back online, naturally half of my saved pages now say they want a subscription, or sign in to your account, or the page is no longer found. The list of new articles looks worse than ever now, too. Sad they ruined this app.
  • Recent updates a disaster...

    I really regret updating.
  • I shouldn’t have updated

I haven’t updated in ages, but I did recently, only to find that the top page is covered in useless recommended articles and saved pages are just a thin bar at the top. But tabbing over to the saved pages button on the bottom returns the saved page list. However, most importantly, I can’t seem to bulk delete saved pages anymore? In the previous version, when I long pressed a saved page, it would let me select multiple saves and then choose what kind of action I’d want to do to them, which is delete. But now, when I long press a page, the app crashes 80% of the time. When it doesn’t crash, it pops up a preview of th article with an edit button on the bottom, that says I can’t do that in this version of the app. How do you bulk delete pages now???? On top of that, deleting individual saved pages is annoying and busted too. To delete an individual saved page, I press the “…” option next to a save, then press Yes to the pop up to delete, but then the app sends me back to the top page that’s covered in useless recommended articles instead of staying on the saved pages list I was on????? Why did they ruin a workflow that worked before???? Why are they shoveling useless articles in my face? I mean, I know why but it’s frustrating to see a once handy app turn into user-abusive junk because they want to sell a subscription. Really disappointed and will switch to a new app instead.
  • Highlights Aren’t Saved

The recent reintroduction of Highlighting on IOS is welcome. Except the highlights aren’t saving. And sometimes, highlighting a couple of sentences sometimes leads to the inadvertent highlighting of the rest of the article. ?!?!?

Is there a way to get back the thumbnail view or switch back and forth???

I’ve noticed that after a year or more pocket finally restored my several dozen saves going back several years. Previous saves had disappeared but thankfully, they’re all back now. I have no idea what had happened.

It’s a love hate relationship. Pocket works so well I love it. Pocket works so well I hate it . With 12,000 articles saved but only half read, I feel guilty . When am I going to find the time to read all those articles ? But because Pocket works so well I know they will be there when I want to read them . Mike
  • Can’t tag

I used to be able to tag articles. About a year ago something changed and I can’t tag articles anymore. I have no idea how to fix this.
  • Miss the previous audio function

I’ve loved Pocket so much, it’s long been one of my two favorite apps. I’ve routinely recommended it _without prompting_. For the past few years the audio feature has gone from reliable to absent to delayed. A 3-4 day delay. I wouldn’t say I’ve lost interest by then, but the reasons for my interest & my desire to learn that info are certainly competing with new info & diminished. This seems so fixable, yet I rarely see updates for the app.
