Description

Keep your mind sharp with word and logic puzzles from New York Times Games. Free to download, the app offers new puzzles daily for every skill level. App Features and Games: NEW: STRANDS Our latest game lets you find hidden words and uncover the day’s theme. It’s the word search you know, with a twist. WORDLE Play the original Wordle — created by Josh Wardle — in our app. Guess the 5-letter word in 6 tries or less, and analyze your guesses with WordleBot. SPELLING BEE Is scrambling your strong suit? Play the daily Spelling Bee and see how many words you can make with 7 letters. THE CROSSWORD Subscribers can play the same daily puzzle that’s printed in The New York Times, in our app. Crosswords increase in difficulty throughout the week. CONNECTIONS Group words with a common thread. See if you can do it with four mistakes or fewer. SUDOKU Looking for a numbers game, minus the math? Play Sudoku and fill each 3x3 set of boxes with numbers 1 to 9. Play a new puzzle every day in easy, medium or hard mode. THE MINI CROSSWORD The Mini is all the fun of The Crossword, but you can solve it in seconds. These word puzzles don’t increase in difficulty throughout the week and feature simpler clues. TILES Unwind while you match elements in the day’s pattern — the key is to make consecutive matches. LETTER BOXED Create words using letters around the square. Letter Boxed is another fun way to test your word-making skills. STATS Track your progress for The Crossword, Wordle and Spelling Bee. For The Crossword, monitor your average solve times, see how many puzzles you can solve in a row, and more. Plus follow your streak on Wordle, and track how often you reach each level in Spelling Bee. LEADERBOARDS Start a friendly competition with The Mini leaderboards. Add up to 25 friends to see who can solve today’s Mini puzzle the fastest. PUZZLE ARCHIVE Subscribers can now solve over 10,000 past puzzles from Wordle, Connections, Spelling Bee and The Crossword. DIGITAL SUBSCRIPTION OPTIONS: You can purchase a monthly or annual New York Times Games subscription. • Nice way to forget the real news

I don’t read the NYT anymore after the recent events. It’s nice to relax for a change and play some games!
  • Violate the law with their emails

I have really enjoyed playing these games for quite some time, so I finally subscribed. Now I get emails all the time about games I might have missed, how to play something, swag I can buy, twitter accounts I can follow, etc. I confirmed all my notification and communication preferences were set accordingly. THESE EMAILS HAVE NO UNSUBSCRIBE OPTION, which VIOLATES THE LAW UNDER THE CAN-SPAM ACT. I contacted the support folks who basically said there are no settings for these emails, so oh well, deal with the emails. They also suggested that if I really don’t want the emails, I can create a rule and filter them to a different inbox. That should not be the solution! Ensuring your tech conforms to the law should be the solution! My subscription ended today.

Really wish the NYT would come back to the bargaining table with the NYT tech guild so I could unreservedly give this app 5 stars.
  • Consistently Spinning

I love playing each of the games and would be interested in subscribing if it wasn’t for the fact that every time I open the app, at least 3 of the games open to a blank screen and a spinning wheel. That forces me to quit the app and start over, usually with the same result. It’s never the same games that lag each day. I’d love to give the app 5 stars, but this has to be fixed first!
  • Why no Connections Bot?!?!?!

I love these games!!! But why doesn’t the app have the Connections Bot??? I could get the bot when i played in a web browser without being logged into anything. They have the Wordle Bot in the app, why not the Connections?? This drives me nuts!!!

You can only play once a day for each game and half the things on here are blocked. I’m severely disappointed. It was deleted immediately!
  • Finicky features

Friends and I compete daily on the Wordle which would be a fun experience except that even though we all use the free version some of us have access to the Wordle bot but others, like myself, have the Wordle bot locked behind a subscription pop up.
