  • Not being able to paste into a post is infuriating

I like to write and edit my posts outside of the app, or just copy a link in but pasting content into a post is disabled. I assume this is a choice, please choose otherwise.

    1. When sending a post to a connection and adding a message, the send button disappears and has never worked properly. 2. Why can’t you have the app fill the screen in landscape mode, come on?!

This app has gone down the drain. It’s become a necessary evil: it’s needed to be successful in your career but the app truly gives zero value. The certifications you get from the app don’t translate to most companies and isn’t credible. There are too many recruiter “influencers” who basically give their opinions on what a makes a resume “marketable” and peddle paid services to “enhance” your resume. I did one with someone and I applied and the company told me my resume was unacceptable. There are too many grifters that spam your inbox to sell something and talk to my company for. If I talked about my company, I would be fired. Too many out of touch users who comment either racist things or tone deaf things. LinkedIn doesn’t remove them because they’re “top contributors”. 7/10 of job postings are fake, like from Upstart, to show investors that they’re growing. It’s misleading a growing population of jobless people to have false hopes that a post is real. It’s also just become a humble bragging app. I legit saw someone say, “During my 6 years of working at google as a senior developer, I couldnt find the time to have a dog. Now, meet Fido, my cavapoo I got during the pandemic.” I’ve found better luck networking in person. I reached out to a recruiter (Leah Dillon) asking what the company culture is like and I received the nastiest response saying I should cold-DM someone, even though they added me back. After that, I refuse to even speak to any of the recruiters. This app was once a great app to actually learn about what other industries are doing and learn from great people. Now it’s a sea of scammers and fake job postings.

I’ve been locked out of my account from LinkedIn twice already verified my government ID. No way to contact support. Government ID verification won’t work anymore. I got a bad taste in my mouth. -Update- The bad tasted is gone! LinkedIn you do a wonderful job protecting privacy. Highly Respectable and Appreciated and the support was fast! Lesson learned if you use a VNP set-up a Authenticator App! 1 star to 5!

I’ve been trying to reset my password. There’s a bug in the system or something. It takes me to this page that asks for my email, I give it my email, it sends an email, I put in a 6 digit verification code. It asked me if I want to verify with persona, I say no because I don’t want to take an extra 15 mins reading the terms and conditions for persona. It then redirects me to the sign in screen. I click the “forgot password” button and the whole process repeats. This needs fixing
  • NEW Restrictions on free accounts makes it nearly impossible to use without paying

Unemployed or recently laid off…beware!!! LinkedIn now restricts your account to 5 personalized connection requests per month. Good luck trying to network with companies where most people ignore default requests due to so many spam accounts. It renders this platform nearly useless unless you pay $40 a month. I contacted support who claimed they were performing a “test” on various groups, but this is without user consent. LinkedIn did not contact users with Terms & Conditions update regarding this, which is illegal. Shame on you LinkedIn/Microsoft for taking advantage of people’s employment misfortune!

I wish I could give a negative review for every “promoted job” I have ever seen.
