  • Good app

I love the app, it’s very helpful. A feature I hope to see added is Lifesum not only telling you if your meal is balanced or not, but if your meal is imbalanced things you could change about the meal to make it balanced

For 2 years, I have used (and paid) for this food tracker. It WAS easy to use. Type in a food and restaurant name to search and it would pop up many options to select from. Simple…uncomplicated. Now with the updates it is more complicated - not less. For example, there isn’t an option to search the name of a food - it is now a quick track and for that you have to know the name and calories. If you try to search as before with a restaurant name and partial food description (i.e. shrimp scampi, Red Lobster) NOTHING returns…blank listings. What if you don’t remember the calories on the menu? Then you cannot track that food choice. Next example, I use the food saved previously (under favorites) to track my breakfast and I want three different items. Try again! The app will only allow ONE track at a time. You must spend more effort going through the same process to select and track all three items. Thank goodness the software team didn’t erase 2 years worth of recipes that I created and saved - that would have been a nightmare and made this transition even more difficult! There are 4 other ways of tracking food but I don’t use those….seem silly and can’t verify if the app actually gets the calories correct. Not the extra effort I’m willing to expend. :-/ That said, I wish we could have tried the new options before automatic payment so that I had the choice to find something more suited to me. With the time, effort and diligence I put into creating hundreds of home-made recipes, it looks like that is the only highlight keeping me with this app where I have to stay….reluctantly for now.

I used to love this app, I been using it for many years I even paid for yearly plans, but this new update makes very difficult to add past meals and this IA thing when you search is real bad! Bring back the old version with the meals already divided. Sometimes I’m out and I don’t add a meal but I know what I ate and when I try to add it later it is so difficult. If it doesn’t change I won’t be renewing my subscription.
  • New update blues

This app has been my favorite food tracker for years and I am a premium member. However, the new update is driving me crazy! I like the Ai food tracker but I hate the new Home Screen layout. But when I switch back to the old layout, I loose the Ai tracker! Some of my specific complaints are as follows: 1. Why cant I track food for a specific meal? I don’t usually track after everything I eat, but do so maybe once or twice a day, but then it thinks everything was my dinner. 2. Similarly, I liked getting specific meal ratings to see where I could improve throughout the day. 3. Why can’t I search for food from the new multimodal tracking? This drives me crazy! I just search for a specific product that I know is in the system but don’t have the option. These are my biggest complaints. I hope the developers fix this new update because it seems to be annoying everyone. Otherwise I may have to switch to a different app.

In the new AI mode, I still can’t enter my food consumption. Please fix this. Otherwise, love the app on my phone, the photo-recognition of food works really well.

After using this app for a couple years, I found the most recent update to make that almost unusable rather inconvenient to use, so I’ll be looking for another app to use for tracking

Positives: I like the tracking with photo feature when you need to quickly track a meal with a “guesstimation.” So glad the barcode feature is still here! Negatives: there’s a lot of glitches with the new ai update, and things aren’t as streamlined as they used to be. Foods are no longer organized by meal type. It just appears as one long list, and if they’re not tracked in a timely manner they will show up as an incorrect meal, and it doesn’t seem like there’s a way to manually adjust when before you could. You also can’t see calories by meal anymore, which was super helpful in tracking my habits, it’s all just really disorganized now. Tracking with text is not always accurate either, and there’s no way to adjust, or search for verified foods like they’re used to be. I also really wish you could multi select from recent foods when tracking a meal, you have to go back each time and it’s really annoying, I don’t think this was a problem before. Overall: I’m hoping these things are addressed, I used to really love this app. I’m disappointed that Lifesum went the ai direction, the personal touch and accuracy is just not there anymore They fixed something that wasn’t broken and made it worse. I would suggest keeping the photo feature and text entry as an option but still include the old methods. I won’t be renewing my subscription if this doesn’t become more user friendly.

Title. please stop over complicating things. I want to search the database and add the food based on verified entries. you cannot do that anymore. you have to depend on AI to calculate your calories or scan a barcode. I want the SIMPLE SEARCH back. i’m disappointed. i had a membership and cancelled. UPDATE: You can go into settings and change the way the food is logged. It appears to be back to normal now
  • Update is terrible

Used to love the app until the new update, now you can only take pictures of your food and it gives you one option when you type in a food instead of being able to look through the macros and different options of different items. It’s over complicated and I wish I could get a refund for the past month but I paid 3 months in advance.

Please put back the old way of tracking food and drinks. But keep the barcodes!
