I have been using this app for over 8 years. I use it to create outlines for writing, my journal and for work notes. It keeps getting better and better

I have used Evernote for years and absolutely love it. There is a restriction how much data you can have for free but I have a lot of information I keep on there and don’t have to pay yet. If I had to pay, I would never use this app. What bothers me is lately every other time I open it they have a huge ad that they want you to buy services, which I refuse to do. To get out of it you have to get out of the app and then go back in again and it is very very frustrating. So if you can deal with the advertising then you are going to love this app. I still love it, but the pop-up ad every other time I open it is just very aggravating which they never did before. I am slowly putting information in other places so I can eventually get out of this app. The money they are trying to charge is on a monthly or yearly basis and it’s very expensive. I don’t mind paying a one time small fee, but never would I pay for reccurring charges for an app.

I don't want 10 cupholders, Evernote. I want a reliable, simple app to take and organize notes. The more you do and charge, the worse the app seems to get. It's zooming in all the time without me doing it. It's closing notes on its own. It's crashing. I'm becoming more and more disappointed in an app I once had a massive love for.

I've relied on this app for years, finding it unparalleled for note-taking, project planning, list-making, collaborative sharing, and so much more.
  • Holding my data hostage!

Used to be great, but anymore, I can’t get in without navigating through several screens of sales pitches and back to back “Are you sure” prompts when I try to decline the offers.
  • Good app but needs better search capabilities

This app is being billed to my iTunes account. I never authorized it and there is no way to cancel it. I’ve tried multiple online online through the store through iTunes. I cannot get this app canceled and I do not want to pay for it the worst service ever.
  • Why did you have to go and “fix” what wasn’t broke?

This latest “update” is not an update at all. It was a massive step backward. This new Home Screen that shows up EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I open the app that is utterly useless to me is horrible. There is zero way to remove it and just display the previous Home Screen. You know… the one that allowed you to instantly see the notes you were working on. The screen that didn’t require you to navigate 10 hoops to get to the information you actually want to see. You can fix it on your PC… why can’t you fix this on a mobile app. Before this “update” that fixes problems that didn’t exist and created more hoops to jump unnecessarily… I would have definitely give you 5 stars… but funny now that I pay for your service and get the latest “update”… it went in the toilet. FIX. THIS!!!!
  • A once great app ruined by greed

I totally get the need to make money off of an app. I do. But when you constantly pelt users with annoying pop-ups, it makes it very difficult to use at the spur of the moment when you need to quickly capture notes for a meeting. Fortunately, Apple’s Notes serves my purpose better, so I’m deleting this app.
  • Past glory. Present bait and switch.

I’ve had Evernote since very early in its history and have loved it. I’ve used it off and on—sometimes heavily and sometimes not. As a result, it has a history of my interests and memories. Apparently it sold within the last year, and the new owners have moved to a restrictive subscription model. That in itself would be frustrating, but what is more so is that your past content is locked and if you try to access it, or if someone shares something with you that you need to see, they show you a subscription screen. But here’s the worst part. You can say “no thanks” to a subscription and close the subscription pop up, and it will show you the content you went there for. BUT IT SUBSCRIBES YOU WITHOUT TELLING YOU IT DID SO. I found out that I’d paid several months of PROFESSIONAL level when all I’d done is look at a shared file sent to me twice. So I canceled the subscription as soon as I found out about it. But the same person had me look at the file again—which from what I read could be done, as long as I used it on only one device—and now I have a personal subscription I did NOT agree to. Evernote has now made over $100 from me in just a few months, when I’ve opened it exactly three times for a shared file. I’m reporting this. This is tantamount to a scam.
