    The UI for browsing through the sources list could be better, but everything else is ok. I have yet to use pro mode and don’t know why it’s there.

    It’s not often I review apps, but this one is so amazing, it goes way beyond being a “chatGPT wrapper” and is truly something that works as well (if not better) than the marketing material suggests. I’m a huge fan of this app and I’m excited to see the direction the take going forward!

    The title speaks for itself. Of all the AI chat interfaces I’ve used, across all Frontier + Top Open Source Models, Perplexity seems to be the only one practically immune to Hallucinations (albeit from very limited edge cases when querying on obscure topics with little to know documenting). The response quality is always right on the mark, with a balanced mixture of explanatory content with enough brevity to keep you engaged. The follow-up context feature is easily the standout perk you will get max value from. This is THE go to LLM for Fact Checks. The only con I can think of is the context window limit and code generation for complex coding tasks seem to lack in overall quality due to either the token cap, response framework, or the fine tuning parameters. Unlike ChatGPT & Claude, It can’t consistently generate full scripts without breaking them up into smaller snippets, which defeats the purpose of a script. Aside from that, Perplexity smokes everything else you throw at it, which is a game changer when you can readily trust the information and not have to fine comb every response for hallucinations.

    I’m an ML, LLM, and DevOps Engineer and needed to give credit where credit is due - Perplexity AI integrating with DeepSeek R1 was a brilliant move. Having realtime data provided by Perplexity and R1’s CoT Reasoning is more than impressive, it’s useful; hard to find in today’s age of everything branded as “AI that’ll change your life”. This has become a daily tool I use, and look forward to seeing Perplexity develop its integrations and platform further.

    I have been using Google since I was running Windows 98. Perplexity is superior in every comparative metric. And no advertising. Google would have to eliminate that before I would consider using it again.
