  • I’m getting alerts for restaurants I didn’t sign up for

When I first downloaded the app, I was logged in under someone else’s email! I didn’t realize it right away, so I deleted some alerts - I’m sorry if I messed up someone else’s! As soon as I realized, I logged out and set up my own account. I’m now logged in under my email and with only one restaurant at Disneyland - but I’m receiving notifications for Disney World restaurants! This is a mess, I’m glad I didn’t pay and I’m deleting it right away.

Have been waiting 60 days. Was alerted twice already gone by the time I got my email in. Don’t believe this is a reliable source.
  • Worthless app

If I could give zero stars I would. Even if you pay for the app and act immediately, you never get the reservation it’s always gone before you apply. Just another app taking your money with promises of increased chances for dining.
  • Reservations unavailable

I’ve been notified several times of open reservations and act on them immediately, but by the time I get to the Disney website the reservation is gone! I’ve used the app in the past and have been able to book reservations successfully so I am not sure what’s going on lately. Please look into this.

I’ve had nothing but excellent experiences with this app. I’ve been able to get so many reservations that I thought I would miss out on. I haven’t had any problems and the reservations are always still available when I click into the notification. Thanks so much for such a useful tool!!
  • Got a Space 220 Reservation

I was able to snag a Space 220 Reservation just a couple of days before I leave for my trip. You can only track one day and time at once for free but it came in clutch!
  • Not reserving times sent

I’ve used this app before and it’s been great… But now that I’m down here it is sending me to the Disney app which is not letting me book a reservation that you are saying is open. That is extremely frustrating.

I am leaving the below review for context. The developer reached out to me via email and explained some things with the app and service. First, apparently the app stops checking for open reservations late at night, somewhere around midnight and doesn’t start checking until early AM, like 5 or 6am. Normally this would be fine, there is likely very few people that are canceling reservations during this time of night. HOWEVER, my testing happened to be during this time period, so to me it appeared just not to be working at all. Second, the frequency of checks is dynamic. How it was explained to me by the developer was that the further away from your visit, the less often the app checks for open reservations. As you get closer, the frequency increases. It was explained to me that the majority of cancellations, and thus reservations opening up, happen much closer to the actual travel date, thus it’s more important to frequently look for reservations closer to the actual date. Fair enough. The developer mentioned that they would add some additional clarification/information to the FAQ or app to better describe how the process works. Because of this I’m adjusting my review upwards to be fair, but will caution that I have not personally fully experienced this service since I’m still over 50 days out from my travel dates. If it does work as described by the developer, then I would recommend starting to use (and pay for) this app when your travel dates fall within its month subscription, since there will likely be only moderate benefits if you’re checking way out near the 60 day start of reservations. I’m very appreciative to the developer for reaching out and being transparent with how the back end works. Original review below for context: I released a reservation for Trader Sam’s, waited a couple hours, used the Disneyland app to verify the reservation was still open, then created an alert in StakeOut. Got a notification that the alert was created and there was nothing available right now but they would “keep checking.” Used the Disneyland app again to verify that the reservation was still open. This confirms that the service is no longer working, just like all the competitors. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS.

    Always gets us in asap!
  • Monthly pricing is predatory compared to competitors

Stakeout has potential, however their pricing is $9.99 a month for 10 active alerts and $19.99 a month for 25 active alerts (there is also a $14.99 non-subscription option for 4 weeks of access and 5 active alerts which is pointless because you can just choose the $9.99 option and set it up to not renew and get better benefits at the lower price point) For one full year, Stakeout would cost you $120/$240 where competitors will give you similar plans for $80 and $90 a year. I do like the fact that Stakeout can alert you to many Disney experiences in addition to dining reservations, however it’s not enough for me to justify the higher price over other apps and services that deliver the same results. I would consider subscribing for one month when I feel it’s needed… but I’m going to choose a yearly plan with a different app/company for my primary needs for Disney alerting. Pricing is a huge turn off since Stakeout does not provide any value greater than their competitors which are much more reasonably priced.
