Description

As a single parent, you’ve tried other dating apps, but at the first mention of your kids, you’re no longer interesting. Sound familiar? That’s why we created Stir, a dating app with a focus on single parents. It’s where you don’t have to apologize for having a crazy schedule. It’s where having kids isn't a deal-breaker. It’s where solo parents can meet, chat, and rediscover the fun in dating. You’ll get to know potential matches through our questions on personality and values. As we learn what you like and don’t like, our algorithm will present new matches we think you’ll love. With so much personality on each profile, Stir makes it easy for you to connect with local single moms and dads. Here you can find your "every other weekend" partner or the person with whom you want to blend families. Download Stir now! Terms Of Use: https://www.stir.com/registration/membagr.aspx?lid=4

I’m new at this, so maybe I’m naive. I purchased a 6 month subscription and soon after, met someone. I thought I was doing the right thing by deleting my profile after becoming exclusive. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out. I went back on the app thinking I could restore my purchase, much like other apps. Nope. It’s all a money seizing scheme, taking advantage of those looking for love. My email was still in their system when I went back on, but I wasn’t able to use the remaining time on my subscription. This goes for Match, Stir and all the Match group. Shame on you for being all about the money. **plus when I went back on Stir, I only saw people from Illinois…even though I live in Iowa. What a crock.

Me: professional with MS, 40s, one child Pro: -fellow single parents Con: -recommendations don’t respect my preferences -pools non-parents and folks from Match.com -low-quality pool of matches -most recommendations are way out of my preferences for distance, age, profession/education, prefs on children -does not offer refunds = waste of time & $

Not on here much so it's just okay for me
  • Never buy their premium plan!

My account got banned because someone reported me saying that they found my communication to be disrespectful when all my communication is open and it’s nothing beyond banter. Either there are AI bots handling these or the support staff is too bitter to keep a fair environment. I wasted months building potential connections that are now gone. Never ever buy their premium plan! I’m thinking of posting this on Reddit and other social media to warn other single parents because we are fragile and take things more seriously than regular folks. Such a heartbreak

  • Not even close

Didn’t even attempt to connect me to people remotely close to my area and I live in Portland, Oregon. I paid for a premium membership with no luck. I would like my money back as a recently divorced 40-year-old male I find this particularly bogus.

  • Broken algorithm

The concept of this app is dope, I like that it’s focus is on bridging the gap for single parents. However, the algorithm is trash, I have to sift through a bunch of profiles just to find one or two in my city or one over. I set my preferences for 22 miles away and put my zip code yet my recommendations are people 3/4 hours and 300 miles away. I’m not trying to have a long distance relationship or catch a flight to go have dinner.
  • Worst dating app I've ever used

I gave it about 5-10 matches, most had openers like "hello" and couldn't carry a conversation. Also weird app functionality where two tabs are useless unless you pay. It tells you that you have 99+ likes but doesn't show who they are. I can't believe it's so bad.
  • terrible app with nasty creepy men

nothing but creepy men asking for social media because they’re cry babies and assume every pretty woman is “fake “ so they go and report u with no such evidence resulting in a life time ban for no reason. literally can’t even DATE in peace ever because salty men ruin every app out there. and stir won’t even help investigate the innocent just terminate for no reason didn’t even do anything.
