  • Really great with one frequent annoyance

Love how easy 1Password makes it to create passwords and logins, update passwords, fill out forms, and everything else. It really is incredible. One thing that is annoying is how frequently it locks. This can get really annoying when it happens frequently for whatever reason. As someone who works from home, it would be great if I could put it in some sort of mode for my scenario. Maybe you can choose modes upon unlocking. 🤷‍♂️ Hopefully this can get some looking into. Thanks.

I've found that 1Password for Safari has consistently improved over the last year, and is much more reliable than it used to be.
  • UPDATED REVIEW

You may see my previous review below. UPDATE one week later: Support representative K**** answered my review with an offer to assist sending a checklist of things to check in the myriad of settings we are all blessed and plagued to decipher. It was straight forward. After seeing that I had elected to turn off “auto-login”, I turned it on. The issue was resolved. It renewed my confidence in 1Password and the team that builds it. I changed 4 Stars to 5. “Software is hard.” - just about anyone who uses or build software. Previous Feedback Version 8 is a step back. The Safari extension is frustrating. After being convinced the "open 1P twice" bug was fixed, it has returned despite numerous system cleaning and re-installing. I will continue to stick with 1P until I get a new machine and upgrade from MacOS 12 to OS14. If that does not fix this bug, it will be time to reconsider moving on to another password manager. Four stars was generous. Thank you for the previous years of convenience. Early adopter and super-user and fan for years, sadly reporting, Tim D.
  • Broken Support for Profiles

Since it is begging for a review so here it is. In Safari 17, support for multiple profiles are broken. If the computer went to sleep or switched to a different profile, the extension will stop working and asks to be reloaded. There is no autofilling at this point. However, reloading alone rarely solve the problem. Frequently it requires Safari itself to be restarted for the extension to resume working.

  • Frequent Updates

Updates frequently break stuff that was previously working. How about testing in house, updating less frequently and focusing on a quality product that just works the first time?

This is unusable on Safari 17 on Sonoma. Consistenly will not unlock. Have to go to the 1password desktop app instead. I don't know if it's the above combination of software versions or the fact that I'm on an Apple Silicon mac, but rest assured this does not work as delivered.

I literally cannot even use a password anymore. As soon as I enter my long password, 1password refreshes and then locks again. So frustrating.

90-95% reliability with Chrome on Mac. Works only 10% of time with Safari. Numerous other users are reporting the. same issue. Have reached out to support but have had no resoluton. Is there any solution coming?
