  • Buggy and slow

I have to wait for about a minute until the extension realizes it can't unlock itself and finally gives me the option to restart. I get it—you can't fix the product. Just give me a restart button right away instead of making me wait.
  • Why is this extension SO BAD

I have been an avid 1Password user since 2014 and I have never encountered so many issues with the Safari extension as I have had in the past year. The extension frequently crashes, lags, and fails to open when needed. I have no clue what the issue is or why it seems like the developer doesn’t care to fix these issues!
  • Just Broken

1Password has been my go to password manager for years, I have a family subscription. Unfortunately, recent releases have become steadily more unstable and unusable. The Safari extension is almost beyond useless, it never seems to have a clue what is going on in username/password fields, even passkeys. This has got much worse since Apple introduced their Password app. The iPad app insists on using Touch ID all the time and there seems to be no way to disable it - my wife’s fingerprints never work on Apple devices, this becomes an endless prompt for a long, cryptic password. Overall, it is starting to look like a kludge.
  • Version 8 terrible, forever

How many _years_ has it been since version 8 came out? It’s still terrible and I’ve given up hope it will ever be as good as version 7. What a travesty.

I don't know how long I have been using 1Password - probably since before they started giving each version a number and I have loved it. It definitely it is not always perfect and there are times where it can be finicky but all in all, it's a fantastic system which rewards you for using the automations. At times v8 has definitely been a PITA, but I absolutely do not see it as a backward step, especially with the ability to integrate various 2FA and biometric functions. IMHO, I think the AgileBits team has done very well with this release and I look forward to everyone getting off their backs about it.

!PW for Safari crashes randomly. This 4 yr. old app needs serious updating
  • Always Asking Set up Touch ID

I have Touch ID turned off for this. With the most recent updates, it is asking every single time to set up TouchID - no I don't want to and it is wasting my time enough to switch products - had 1Password for years, but this is ridiculous.
  • Completely broken

In MacOS 15, and 15.1 this extension has been completely useless (This is over 6 weeks as I’m writing this). It shows the completion dialogue / pop-up but does not allow you to click a fill in your password. The forums indicate that the developers are aware of the issue and “will probably be fixed soon” THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE for an app whose entire purpose is to fill in passwords.
  • Slow unlock response in Safari

I click to unlock 1P and it takes over 5 seconds for it to actually unlock on my M1 macbook and M2 mac mini. That's an issue you can fix.
  • What a shame

I used to absolutely love this app and one of the ones I really thought was worth paying for, but it’s been months that I haven’t been able to get the Safari extension to work. It shows a blank list everytime. I tried every possible fix but couldn’t get it to work. The passwords are in the app but not in the Safari extension. I guess it’s time to migrate from 1Password.
