Algebra by DragonBox covers the following algebraic concepts: * Addition * Division * Multiplication Recommended for age five and up, Kahoot! Algebra by DragonBox gives young learners the opportunity to get familiar with the basics of equation solving. Kahoot! Algebra by DragonBox uses a novel pedagogical method based on discovery and experimentation. Players learn how to solve equations in a playful and colorful game environment where they are encouraged to experiment and use creative skills. By manipulating cards and trying to isolate the DragonBox on one side of the game board, the player gradually learns the operations required to isolate X on one side of an equation. Little by little, the cards are replaced with numbers and variables, revealing the addition, division and multiplication operators the player has been learning throughout the game. Playing does not require any supervision, although parents can assist children in transferring acquired skills into solving equations on paper. It is a great game for parents to play with their kids and can also give them an opportunity to freshen up their own math skills. DragonBox was developed by former math teacher Jean-Baptiste Huynh and has been recognized as an outstanding example of game-based learning. As a result, DragonBox games have formed the basis of an extensive research project by the Center For Game Science at the University of Washington. A frustrating waste of time and money. I purchased algebra 1 one time for a bit over $20 opted for the one time purchase but I continually get the message that I don’t have any games. No customer service to speak of they take the money and run.

Bought this for $19.99 and after a few days it completely stopped working. Every time I start the app, it prompts me to purchase a plan again, then when I go through the flow to repurchase, Apple says that I already purchased it, then when it prompts me to “get it again for free” the app gets stuck forever on a loading spinner. The programmers of this app have no idea how to implement the functionality to allow customers to use the app that they have paid for. Do not under any circumstances give these people your money.

I’m very disappointed in this. I owned this game a few years ago before Kahoot! bought out DragonBox. It is ridiculous that I have to pay to play something I have used in the past. I will most likely end up buying this, but I am still upset about how the app was changed.
  • Apps shouldn’t be listed as free unless they’re truly free

It’s not good product design to list something as free on the App Store and gate the experience immediately. If you offered a lite version or limited features with a pay to upgrade in app purchase I would be all on board. But this did not.
  • You have to pay for it

This game was shown in a ted talk and i thou i might as well brush up on my high school math, but you have to pay six bucks a month for it. Rating this three stars because it looked like a genuinely fun math game in the ted talk and i was very interested to try it.

You can either sign up for $90 for an annual subscription (7 day trial) or pay $20 to buy. Why can't I try it for 7 days without a subscription?
