    Attention developers, this app needs updates. The old Etsy app was better. The new Etsy app does not let you navigate to the next step for certain actions like canceling in order if you want to add in a note to the customer. As today is May 14, 2024, I just tried to cancel an order with a customer and leave them a note regarding the order and had to cancel my action of canceling the order. What is the point of an app if you have to go online and do this through the website anyways. That was a bonus with this app as you can do these actions like canceling an order, it’s even hard to send pictures too customers that are sending new messages and your responding back-and-forth. Please update. There’s a good base, it’s a good app, it just needs to be updated. Remember that you’re dealing with both android and iPhone platforms. You need to accommodate for both. Please update.

    Etsy took their previous sellers app (which worked fine) and completely changed the UI and then removed many helpful features.

    After holding my own money ransom for 90 days I’m leaving the platform. They’re forcing me to ship faster when unlike the junk shops they let on this app reselling cheap garbage from China mine is handmade right down to my supplies. My shipping times which is stated EVERYWHERE and my customers are aware are estimates. Etsy is always trying to force me to ship faster and now took it one draconian step further by HOLDING MY FUNDS FOR 90 DAYS. NO. This is my only job, you’re withholding my income and that’s not happening. I have been with this site since 2007 and have paid THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN FEES. I’m leaving the app for Shopify who lets me run my business without interference. I’m done. This platform is pathetic and disgusting and oversteps. Never again. I know countless shops dropping Etsy and going to Shopify.

    Update: you don’t think I’ve already contacted Etsy for help? That is why I left this review. They have no care that personal contact info is given with orders. I’ve had it with buyers sending direct messages. It took me a while to figure out why a buyer would be able to message me outside of the platform and app and I realized Etsy gives buyers your personal email after they order. It is like Etsy is immediately dropping the ball on all sellers. At first I felt like it was a scam since there was zero context to the messages. I get messages saying can I cancel this or is this included with zero info on what these people are even talking about. If you run a large business on Etsy this is really hard to manage. I sell on 4 platforms and Etsy is the only one that allows outside communication. Doing this can get you banned from every other platform out there. We sell on these platforms for the added safety of personal info to seller protection. I don’t even use my name on Etsy but my business store name but now every buyer immediately gets it when they email. This is wrong and Etsy should allow sellers to be able to opt out of this. I don’t even know how Etsy can give buyers and sellers any protection if they don’t have access to all communication. There is something really wrong about this. I have removed all my listings until I can figure out a way to navigate this. For those that don’t know- as of right now when a buyer gets their receipt email after purchasing there are 2 links for buyers. One will open up your personal email immediately in their email which will show your name and email or the other will take them directly to Etsy messaging.
