  • No Photo Folders?

    So far this app has been alright, but I cant put photos from my phone in a folder?? I dont know if im missing something but i think its absurd that I cant organize my photos.

    I downloaded the app because I wanted to be able to securely copy a digital notebook between devices so that I could have an up to date copy viewable on several devices. The upload process from my PC was simple enough. I put the drive app on my IPhone and IPad with the hopes I could simply download the notebook folder and copy it over to an on device file system. This didn’t work. I even went into the browser and tried to download it that way and ran into issues. First off it didn’t even work on Firefox. Second of all it showed that it downloaded when using Safari, but the zip file I was left with was 5Kb and couldn’t be opened. This is way too many hoops to jump through. On Google Drive or One Drive downloading a copy onto my device is seamless. Even taking into account the added security from the Encryption Proton offers, I will not be using this product any longer. It’s simply unacceptable for it not to work. Especially since I pay for the service.

    As someone using it for a secure backup for (just) important documents able to be synced and accessed across devices, this app works! And it has a decent amount of storage size for the free tier (2 GB) which is also a plus!

  • Delete after upload option? & folders?

    Can you add the delete files after upload option? Also, no clue if possible but would be cool to selectively upload/back up only photos from a specified iphone folder/s? Awesome work as always!

  • Search Function & Side Tilt

    I like Proton drive but I need to be able to search through the files and there needs to be a search function added. Also, it be great if when you tilt your phone into landscape mode, the files also tilted in that direction.

  • Can’t rarely upload videos

    I appreciate the privacy, or what is said to be private, but I paid for a $4.99 subscription to be able to store more stuff to avoid having to use Google, and to be able to get my videos off of my iPhone to transfer to my computer. It’s rare that a video upload is successful, and I’m not talking massive vids either. Simple 30-second videos or even shorter sometimes always fail. Oftentimes, I can upload one or two, then no subsequent video will upload. I’ve tried in multiple settings of connection scenarios—mobile data, different WiFi, etc. also, my device is not clogged with files as sometimes the iPhone will be problematic with uploads on any drive (even YouTube uploads) if the device is really full. Idk, maybe there needs to be some under-the-hood spiff ups of Proton Drive, but until I can reliably upload vids I can’t justify even $5/mo.

    Why is this app missing so many functions that are incredibly basic in other cloud storage services' mobile apps? Can't view "My computer" folders. Can't even swipe left or right while viewing an image to go to adjacent images; I'd like to know why such functionality was not put into this app.

    Billed my account for renewal 60 days in advance (ToS say 30 days) and then summarily deleted my account (probably 45 days prior to expiration) after not engaging with my complaints. Incredibly problematic and exploitative practices.

  • FaceID issue

    Good so far. Considering moving everything from apple to Proton. FaceID is not working on Proton Drive to unlock the app, but it works fine on other Proton apps. I had to enable a passcode instead. Is this a Proton issue or maybe specific to me? Update: ultimately deleted the app. It’s not going to work out, but hope they continue to improve.
