I have been using Banktivity since the early days of "iBank." I ran a small service business through it for more than a decade once QuickBooks started charging more for every version and for filing every form. Now that I am retired, Banktivity still keeps my simple financial life: banking, credit, investments, reports all in order in perpetuity. The best reason to convert to Banktivity: Superb customer support!!! I have a number of serious issues losing data, glitches, etc. A Banktivity representative has always been either a live chat, a phone call, or even once a "TeamViewer" screen sharing help. I have utmost confidence that my financial are safe and reliable.

I used Banktivity in the past, and it was a decent accounting app. I stopped using it when my finances became simple. Now that my finances are becoming more complicated, I decided to start using Banktivity again. Well, it will not let me sync saying that it cannot use my Banktivity ID. I've tried with a new ID, which did not work. Nothing in support documents in the website concerning this manner. I'm running the latest OS and hardware that is less than two years old. I do not have time for this level of unreliability.
  • Does what it's made to do

Love this banking program, it keeps my financials in check and my projection as well. i've been using this app for years and I'd be lost without it. I recommend this for everyone that wants to help keep thier financials in check. The one thing I dont like it that the bill due dates don't intergrate with my calendar on my mac.

Occasionally I have trouble synching my credit card info with Chase, which is annoying, but otherwise this is a great program that has helped me keep the family finances straight for many years. A most worthwhile subscription.

I created the account on the computer. I know the username and password are correct and even did a password reset. But the iPhone app says incorrect. So this app is useless.

I have used Banktivity since the days of iBank and have been happy IGG’s products until recently. Direct connect can be clunky at times and certain banks/cards simply don’t work at all. I recently renewed and upgraded my subscription for two reasons, 1) Apple Card direct connect, 2) downloading current cryptocurrency prices. After reaching out to support for the first, I am told that Apple Card is a known issue and they are working on it with no estimate as to when direct connect will be functional with Apple Card. Since two of my other banks requires two factor authentication, Direct Connect is file to download 4 transactions a month. The rest are manually entered. After opening a ticket and waiting a week for an actionable response, I was informed that Banktivity only downloads end of day cryptocurrency values, and there is a delay. This makes the Gold Subscription useless. Call me bitter, but I have just paid $99.99 for a year of cloud sync. To me, it is just not worth the price. Lastly, on the topic of cloud sync, if you plan to let your subscription expire, make sure the document on your primary device is current. I was taking care of my mother following hip surgery and when I returned to my desktop after 6 weeks, it was 6 weeks behind. With no way to export from iOS, I was forced to reimport/recreate 6 weeks of transactions, prices and statements or continue to use my iPhone as my primary financial devise. I chose to recreate the wheel.

Long user I moved from Money (windows) when I switched to Mac. Ibank at that time. I was enthusiast for years, then name changed and then subscription. OK I can understand world is going that way. Unfortunately support went bad and meantime the “very alive” dedicated forum was cancelled (another best source of help). Then few years ago the most important features became unreliable or missing. Connection with banks (I don’t use), sync between devices and updating security prices. I had to give up for another app despite for other reason I liked more Banktivity but it became unusable for me, and for many. Later only US based stocks exchange where supported. A months ago I found a support article dated 2020) that stated that most stocks exchanged (European included) where now supported, including explanation how to use that….so I thought let’s give a try. Downloaded again I started to load data to discover that It was not through only London stock exchange was supported. Not Italian off course we are a B class. All the other app I tried (can name ten at least) included the one I choose when I switched from Banktivity don’t have a any problem to update security prices in most stock exchanges but not Banktivity…. Shame on you IGG this was last chance. UPDATE: after the developer responded I did contact again the customer support and again they confirmed that do not support Italian exchange (I suppose other EU changes) so the answer is misleaading. I reaally like (used to) the software but it became anusable for EU people.

This app is my most used app across my devices. It keeps track of my checking, savings, and investment accounts and lets me see everything in one place. The bank downloads means I’m always up to date. The silver subscription is the best money I spend (aside from my Calendly subscription). I couldn’t imagine trying to keep track of everything without it.
  • Has potential on the iPad

I had been using the app when it was still called iFinance (going back to iFinance 3). Recently, I started to get back into personal finance and have spent significant amount of time and resources to get my personal finances back in an aggregation app. I have multi currency, multi user accounts as well as business, investment accounts, etc. So, I need a lot of capabilities to capture my true financial picture. On the onset, iFinance does cover most of the bases, but it is in the every day detail that issues arise. It’s important to mention that I use the IPad version exclusively as I do not have a computer. The difference between the iPad version and the desktop version is the source of my frustrations. There is no feature parity at all. The following is not a list of feature parity, rather a list of what experience with the iPad version) To name a few: no bulk edits on the iPad (cannot select multiple transactions and change them in bulk), cannot exclude select accounts from adding to total net worth (I want to track accounts that are not connected to my net worth), cannot seem to add pictures or documents to transactions, some international accounts are not being pulled in although the particular bank is supported (checking account for the bank pulls in, savings doesn’t - via Saltedge), overall very traditional UI throughout (editing transactions is a nightmare - changing any part requires at least 4 clicks), drag and drop (old concept I know) is not supported, managing categories is clunky at best (again way too many clicks - drag and drop would be so easy), same with managing accounts in the sidebar (again way to many edit buttons to click - drag an drop is the answer), investments seem complex to manage as well, but I need a bit more work with the topic before rendering a final verdict on that aspect of the app. This is by far an exhaustive list of issues - rather a first impression after working with the app to get at least 10 years worth of financial transactions over probably close to 20 different accounts into the app. Other than that I do love the potential. If IGG would spend more time to treat the iPad equal to the desktop version as well as heavily invest in a UI refresh that deploys some much needed efficiency improvements I will upgrade the rating. It’s not a cheap app at their most expensive plan (you need it for the requirements I have). Seeing the update of the app this week to support an unproven niche product such as the Apple Vision Pro seems a bit misguided. Fix the iPad version first!
  • What has happened to this app?

I've been using Banktivity for years, but starting with Banktivity7 it has been getting increasingly buggy and unreliable. I just added a transaction to my checking and watched as a dozen transactions, already entered and saved, just randomly disappeared. It's not the first time this has happened either. When I download sometimes I get duplicates and even triplicates of transactions that won't merge. THis program used to be effortless. Now it's a chore and I no longer trust it to maintain accurate balance information. One of my most recent issues that I think came with an update is that, on the reconciliation screen the drop box for selecting cleared, all or no transactions is only accessible when I first create the statement but after that it's greyed out and no transactions are ever automatically selected. As someone who balances their checkbook every few days, it's a pain in the butt to have to go in and manually check off each transaction when it's supposed to happen automatically. It happens on all my accounts. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program but nothing helps. I'm so fed up I'm looking at alternative desktop apps. I have to do so much manual entry and correction now that I might as well go back to pencil and paper.
