It feels like you can’t do anything in this app without having to pay to upgrade to the pro version.
  • Great tool, foreign keys supported, shortcuts actions deperately need docs

For the newbie like I was, sqlite is designed to be serverless; i.e., its databases are in files that the app has direct access to, so its more client-file than client-server. You need only this app and some storage space that Files can access. The UI is a little convoluted but you get used to it. Foreign keys are supported if you use "pragma= foreign_keys on" (since sqlite v 3.6.19) and the proper sqlite syntax described in sqlite docs "Foreign key support" page. The Apple shortcuts actions are the primary attraction here ONCE you understand their syntax ➞ a few working examples would be worth a hundred pages of documentation and hours of trial & error! I may give it 5 stars for functionality once I figure how to use all the actions. I would love to see some simple but elegant configurable form styles that could be used on the iphone.

I find myself moving more and more info from other apps into SQLite tables and this is a great app to work with them. I typically create the db in app the load and read data via shortcuts.

This tool gives me the functionality I was looking for to interact with my SQLite databases, but I wish it included better documentation or a Help function. For example, if the developer had included SQL query examples that produce the screens shown in the App Store’s entry, I would be able to better utilize the power of the tool. I looked at a lot of tools to use on my iPad, and this is the BEST one.

I am so so very pleased— with the results from, and everyday productivity— that has been facilitated by this wonderfully designed and highly refined application. For years, now, I have loved SQLmobile, and this is an app I will stand beside until the end. As a freelance organ sampleset developer, the world of relational database architecture becomes absolutely critical to go about correctly, and this fully-fledged app hits every point desirable for any query, transactional statement, or workflow tweak you could need. I’ve long since happily migrated my local databases into this app from their former editors and the projects have been a breeze ever since. Absolutely CHOOSE THIS APP!

I tested many SQLite programs and settled on three over the years, but one had a less than ideal interface and another had poor compatibility with the desktop version of SQLite. This app has never let me down as far as compatibility with the desktop version of SQLite is concerned. Raised my review to 5 stars.

2024-02-29 ~ One day after posting the review below. I wrote Filippo, the author, and he replied within 24 hours. I can now open the app again. There was an issue with iCloud, I had to toggle it off for the app; he said he’s submitted an update to Apple already. So far, in my light testing, I’ve been *very* impressed. Numerous nice touches like auto column sizing, rows can hold more than one line of text—so a field with a sentence versus just one word, can have its entirety shown. Low-light mode. Search the entire database and get the results in real time. Show & edit one record at a time. As an SQL newbie I’ve not yet tried its querying features. ____________ I tested the free version before deciding to pay to unlock it’s promised features. For 5 or 6 hours I gave it light testing and I was very impressed. I downloaded an SQLite db to it, entered data, and shared/exported the .db from it to another app which uploaded it to my mac and I edited it there no problem. It seemed to work mostly well but had issues with Apple Pencil ✏️ not always working, and tapping out of a cell didn’t commit the change, you must click Done. And other minor issues. But unfortunately after I added some triggers to my db and reimported the db, the app crashed at startup. I don’t know what it’s due to. Rebooting the iPad, trashing & reinstalling the app hasn’t helped so far. All I get is a crashing app. It crashes so quickly there’s no intro screen. This app has a lot of potential but in less than 12 hours use it won’t even open. And that’s after reinstalling the app and rebooting the iPad, both multiple times.
  • The free version does literally nothing.

I’d appreciate it if App Store banned fake free apps where the only thing that a user can do is upgrade to the pro version.
