Arknights, one of the greatest anime style tower defense games that I have come across. Downside? They reallllllyyyy hate their global server community, they stretch out content too much and it ruins the experience, and so we have to wait months on end just for a new event, and almost a year or so just for a story expansion. I know they are focusing on developing a sequel (I think) for Arknights, but you consistently give the CN servers so much content while you leave global waiting months on end… and I just don’t enjoy the game anymore.
  • Disappointed at the updates.

I’ve always loved the artwork and the innovative gameplay but recently I’ve been disappointed by the slow to nonexistent quality of life updates to the game that could make farming and reading easier. I can’t even muster any motivation to level up my operators but I still have hope that they improve their game someday. And I wish they would make the text bigger.

my life has been a nightmare until I meet my one and only love, lappland. Ever since I meet her life took a 180 degrees flip and she changed my life. Suddenly there was color in this colorless life and I felt alive again. Everyday being lappland simp and arknights player filled me with joy and i suddenly felt the happiness I never felt in years before. Suddenly life was better and i could breathe again and enjoy each day as i touch lappland and read lappland and y/n on ao3. Thank you yostar for making my one and only beloved waifu, thank you for being me joy again

  • A Gacha Game That’s More Game than Gacha

Arknights has a certain niche within the Gacha genre that makes it so enjoyable, replayable, and distinct from other games that one usually sees put out nowadays. I’ve played Arknights for a while now, and I’ve seen many Gacha games come and go; Arknights is one that is here to last. Although it’s a tower defense game, Arknights requires you to be proactive and carefully watch the battlefield—character skill activation and redeploying units when necessary are crucial parts of gameplay. Regarding gameplay, the operators are very diverse in terms of roles, abilities, and design. Sure, you can use 6-stars all you want, but often the lower tier characters can actually outshine higher tier characters in certain situations, which further adds to the game’s appeal. Yes, there is gacha. Yes, a lot of the strongest characters are obtained from gacha. However, this game provides many avenues to obtain the currency needed for gacha, and as previously mentioned, the game actively encourages you to think creatively and critically with newer stages and events (JT8-3 is pain). Lastly, without too much spoilers, the game’s story is also complex and quite moving. It examines concepts such as nationalism, refugee migration and displacement, and other heavy but important topics, all doing it through the lens of a fictional world. Ultimately, I highly recommend anyone to try Arknights if they can. It certainly is frustrating at times, but trial and error is part of the game.

This is one of the best games I have ever played. There’s always something to do and always has something new. Love the collabs the most probably. I totally recommend.
  • Epic Sci-fi and Fantasy: A Book in Game

Unlike most Tower Defense games, Arknights combines sci-fi and fantasy to create engaging world building environments and stories that can shake the casual gamer. With puzzle like combat, amazing artwork and compelling stories. Arknights is one of a kind. For avid readers Arknights is an Epic Novel that continually expends the narrative. Welcome to Rhodes Island, try not to cry.
