You won’t find a better selection of films anywhere. This is a true treasure and we’re so lucky it exists.
A must-subscribe service

If you’re a cinephile and want to see movies that came out before 1992, you need a Criterion subscription. The app is also pretty good, although there is some doubling up on Watchlist additions that needs to be ironed out.

Best Streaming App

Best streaming app hands down, proof that minimalism is key when designing tech. Few bells and whistles, it just works, never crashes, connects to everything.
Great service on tv, bad on iPad.

I want nothing more than to watch criterion movies on airplanes, and it works maybe 40% of the time. Other times the movies I supposedly downloaded either don’t load or I get a weird error message. Multiple attempts to troubleshoot have still led to a 40% success rate.
My commitment to troubleshooting shows my appreciation for the service. I just wish it worked as well as other streaming services on iPad.
The only streaming service that matters

The other day I watched Gremlins 2 and felt brainwashed, then I opened Criterion and watched Day of the Dead by George Romero and saw a bunch of tiny tyrants get eaten by zombies while the simple folk strive and survive. I really needed that. Thanks Criterion ♥️🦩🐱
Love!

True art , a unique perspective on the cinematic media as a tool to express color light, Beaty and suffering without the reliance on an actor to manipulate or create the mood, tone or emotional expression within the film.

Not the most user friendly, there are definitely features it could benefit from, but overall it’s what you pay for. Tons of options you just have to look around. I like that there’s no ads unlike most movie/tv subscription services.
Wonderful
