Instacart Shopper: Earn money

5 star shoppers with no order issues that sit at red stores get throttled batches. The app won’t send you batches, it will send it to someone miles away with a lesser rating consistently. The app only lets you make so much a day/week before it stops you. There’s not a single good thing about the app. Instacart tries to pride itself on “flexibility” but there’s nothing flexible about it. If you don’t take what they want you to take (and trust me it’s not worth it) then you just don’t work. People aren’t reordering because of the system that’s been put in place. Horrible shoppers have replaced the vets. People have to rush through to get as many batches as possible to possibly be able to eat. The pay is quite seriously lower than the federal minimum wage. This app is the perfect example of how messed up our society is and how nobody cares about the workers running this country. There’s nothing you can do as a shopper to increase your chances to get a batch or money. You're completely at the whim of the carrot. And they don’t care how good of a shopper you are. It means nothing. Bad shoppers get rewarded and good shoppers leave. That’s the whole system put in place. It’s been designed like this. Used to be the best gig app by far and then they got cocky thinking they were too big to fall. Now they can’t recover and I’m so happy about it.

I’ve been using Instacart now for 6yrs I first started using it wasn’t widely known therefore not many batches were available then after the pandemic it became busy and a great source to earn extra income however now it’s too saturated and very competitive making it difficult to get batches.

I wish I wouldn’t have to wait 3 hrs for a $7 job.

Instacart recently charged me as a shopper 30 dollars for bags that I didn’t request, and stole the money out of my earnings. When I asked support about it all they said was they couldn’t cancel it.

Thanks for treating me like a real employee and giving me enough money for my taxes.

When I first started the base pay for batches was great for the first two years then after that they start low balling you where batches are like $4-5 going like 11 miles it getting to the point where it’s hard to even do orders for the extra cash cause your spend more on gas and maintenance than your profit from orders I wish they fix that in my Toledo Ohio area it’s no point in doing orders here you’ll spend more money than make . Also having to wait two hours for tips is another flaw you can run out of funds waiting on your money to kick in… they need to change that and make available upon delivery like DoorDash shoppers want their money immediately not wait for it that’s an inconvenience for sure

I’ve been an instacart shopper since 2023 and I love the convenience of Instacart. This is one of the best delivery apps among all other delivery apps. Instacart is better then DoorDash, grubhub, Uber eats , ect. Because I have experienced all 3 , and instacart is by far the best delivery app. The batches are better, and the money is better. By far.

Another hour and still no orders on a Monday kind of hard to believe. Thank goodness I’m making money scratching scratch off tickets because I’m certainly not making anything working for Instacart. Smfh. They play this game daily of holding orders and telling customers that there are no shoppers available even though I’m right in front of the store with a blank screen. I know this because customers have just told me. Apparently Instacart doesn’t actually want to make money. Wonder if the ceo knows this….
