  • Great game!

Got into the game after I saw the ad that looked how the game was and instantly fell in love! Game is very fun and doesn’t force ads on you! Plus you don’t have to grind as hard considering it’s an idle game!

    The music is good.
  • Bad math

This game works fine while you have it running. All of the calculations work well. The moment you leave the app and go into idle mode (like any other idle game), it fails to math your gains correctly. I could have a +40 copper while converting to copper ingots and I will log in with zero copper. But while I’m logged in, I’m gaining +40 copper per second over my usage. Really bad coding makes me not want to spend any money on the game. After my second galaxy restart and confirmed lack of afk math being correct. I’m ready to delete. Not a proper idle game at all.
  • Satisfying gameplay loop, but a bit repetitive

This game feels very satisfying to play and progress in, and the means of monetizing the game don’t seem too invasive or in-your-face as others similar idle games. And I like the concept of being able to sell your Galaxy and restart with a multiplier on the next. However, the gameplay loop does feel a little repetitive to me. After the first few Galaxy sell-offs, you begin to dread going back to the very early game and having to spend an entire day just getting past the first few planets. Also, it seems weird to me that some features are kept around, but have to be unlocked again through tech, such as the beacon system. I think doing something like letting you keep your smeltery, crafting stations, beacons, etc., would add to the satisfaction of the game. This would also make sense, considering these components are, presumably, attached to your mothership, which the game claims you can keep. I think a change like this would help with the early game drag while keeping the later stages challenging and interesting. Great game overall, and I hope to see more from you in the future!

  • Best game, no cross platform support

I played this game for years on android before moving to IOS when my kids got old enough to have phones. I love this game and clocked thousands of hours. I had nearly every paid upgrade and love TechTree’s games and their payment model compared to just about every other mobile game. They don’t abuse us. Out of their games, this and the Tower are my favorites. Idle Planet Miner does not support cross platform saves while The Tower does. This makes 0 sense and is the reason for the rating. Add cloud saves to Idle Planet and the review will be 5 starts and I’ll go back to playing and spending money on it. If cloud saves weren’t part of any of their games I wouldn’t complain or negatively rate. But they all seem to be built on the same framework which means not supporting cloud saves is a choice.

I’ll start off with saying this is a wonderful game, the projects are so clever and the upgrades really make you think. There are some problems, however. The game is just this far away from greatness every time you open it. You’re always left with a feeling that you’re so close to achieving something great but it ends up limiting your progression and then you have to prestige. Okay, get tons of prestige then. This takes an unholy amount of time and you’re always watching ad after ad to get that juicy dark matter for the double credits for prestige. I don’t mind the ads, and I watch them willingly, but with how addictive the game is it always draws me towards them again. The crafting mechanic just takes way too much time and the fact that you can’t schedule crafts meaning you have to wait 40 minutes just to open up the game and switch it is kind of annoying. The rewards you reap from crafting take too long and are often times plain unsatisfying. Once you finally get that 500 you’ve been waiting for, your smelters have already made double that, and your ores have made triple, which you then spend to make ore mining even faster, which makes crafting even less worth it. The game also runs painstakingly slow when idle. Your mines run at 22% speed. This completely destroys smelting chains and opening the app back up to refresh the max idle time doesn’t do anything to help the mining speed. Idling is underwhelming so when you eventually open the app back up, you’ve got minimal rewards and you stare at the screen waiting for the ores to stock up again. Overall it’s a good game, and I enjoy it from time to time but I feel like a slave to it very often, and it always feels like you’re on the verge to greatness but you’re just this far away from it.
