I would like to know if this app has inclusive language? I don't want the person I'm going to give it to to learn that language. I'm currently using the adult app and it's full of inclusive language and I don't even agree, I feel like they're imposing on me and that's manipulation.

Enjoyable for my daughter for a while to keep her busy, but really had no learning value other than maybe some letter recognition, but she hardly needs that anyways. Employs a lot of the same addiction tactics of classic duolingo (which I thoroughly enjoy), though this time targeting children. But I mean it’s free, so like I said, it’s a way to keep them busy, and it’s probably better than YT, but far less engaging even so. If you wanna actually teach reading, the only app out there that works is Reading.com

  • CREEPY CONTENT - Should Have Read Reviews FIRST

Duolingo has been loved by my family for years and we were so excited to see they launched a kids app. While the app is well made and engaging, I am verrrrry disappointed to discover the icky content in here though for my 7 year old! Creepy stories “Night of the Living Doll”, creepy alien stories, ghost stories, spiders, etc … and no option really to bypass these to level up. The whole premise of having to go look for Bea’s dad because something may have happened to him is emotionally messy - the whole thing is gross and anxiety inducing. Skip this one until they get better content and get rid of this garbage.
  • My 5 year old loves it

I downloaded this for my kid shortly after he turned 5, during the summer before he was entering kindergarten. He knew the alphabet, and some of the sounds letters made, but that was it. He was worried the game would be boring, but he actually found it to be fun. And he learned a lot quickly. It definitely is better if an adult is around to supervise, especially early on. But the progress he has made using this app has been tremendous.

Thank you for making learning free for children, and add free. Discovered this app today, and my 2.5 year old loved it. The learning fun kept him away from asking for the tv. I did each of the lessons with him, allowing for both learning and bonding. Truly, thank you.
  • Why are we dumbing down our kids?

I was on the fence about this app until the title “Yoga Class Gas” popped up in the story feed. Why are you normalizing this for kids? Classrooms already struggle with this kind of nonsense and you’re peddling a story about people farting in a yoga class? Great literature, there. The worst part is my child brought me the phone and told me how ridiculous this was. Glad we’ve been able to instill common sense and standards at an early age.

Disappointed to see this app is only in one language.
