Just large map game play by the computer with no in the cockpit shooting or controlling the ships. A complete waste of my time.

The amount of pay content is utterly stiffing! Everyday, every week, every year. If you’re not paying enough yoi will not have fun, PVP is absurd and the bugs are ever present. Support is lackluster and at times nonexistent.

I’m a Star Trek fan since I was a kid watching the OG series on Channel 11 WPIX with my Dad. I wouldn’t say I am a devout Trekkie but a solid fan. I like shows and movies, period. So I when I saw this I was skeptical. This might be for Trekkies, I thought but I gave it a chance once last year and it didn’t stick. For some reason, I attempted again and boy! I’m in it. Extremely fun world building

Horrible service, community managers won’t answer questions, broken services, constant game-breaking lag, and the only people actually given help or resolutions are whales. Don’t waste your time or money.
  • Game is trash

Game continues to push out content without addressing the issues players have with the game. It has gotten to the point where the game is far too unstable to play

If you’re the kind of person that misses work when you get home, this is your game. If you like excel spreadsheets and feel withdrawals when you aren’t typing in Data, this is for you. If you are the kinda person that scours through online marketplaces for hours that one special thing that will fill your soul with joy for 2 seconds and then feel immediate remorse after purchasing, download now. If you like people on your server bickering and making rules for every bit of minutiae and then do nothing when people violate those rules, get it now. If you absolutely can’t live without basement dwellers that have mommies credit card and buy their way to the leaderboard, don’t wait, act now. If you are addicted to your screen and spend 18 hours a day staring at a screen for random dopamine hits from the slightest bit of excitement, what are you waiting for?
  • Bait-and-switch, money-grubbing, poor coding, and bad support

I’ve been playing the game for over five years and am in the top .02% of players world-wide in terms of power, rank, prestige, and overall ability. While there are free-to-play arcs, the majority of content and placement is geared towards spending money. Each new event and arc release comes with new content to be more capable in-game, and only becomes available for the FTP players after several years, when it is no longer relevant because of all the new additional content constantly being released. This wouldn’t be such an issue except for poor coding and game structure. It is filled with multiple daily grinds and tasks that, while the developer has been improving, requires hours to complete. Each new event and arc release just reveals the myriad issues and results in server shutdowns for repairs and hot fixes. The fixes usually result in more things breaking, and the game continues to just hobble along. Lag and playability are consistent issues, especially with significant numbers of players in systems together. The player base is overall pretty awesome, and the camaraderie and love of Trek is evident. It’s kind of a communal Stockholm syndrome that keeps us all together and playing. The developer support is abysmal, only ever giving platitudes or finding ways to not compensate players or give excuses without fixing stuff.
  • Great game for trekies

If you like Star Trek and base building, this games for you. And that’s about it. There’s absolutely nothing in the game that requires strategy, not sure how it ever got that title, but the 10% of the player base that aren’t a**holes are real good people if you can ignore the other 90%. Come for the StarTrek, stay for the people, because the game still has significant bugs years after launch that support seemingly still has no intentions of fixing. That being said, I do still play for hours a day.
