The title of this review sums it up
  • Horrible experience

They make it really hard to find the name of the series you want to continue watching. The app interface is exactly the same as the website. It is like they intentionally redesigned it to discourage watching the same series over multiple days.
  • Improving but not there yet

The app has been improving over time, many of the complaints in the top reviews are no longer applicable. If I had a suggestion it would be to change it so that clicking on an episode shown on the home screen automatically puts you in the series playlist instead of just the one episode. Currently you have to go search up the series name and start the episode from inside the series to be able to watch multiple episodes in a row, this shouldn't take that many steps. This is the number one thing that makes me just close the app.
  • User experience is awful

Terrible app UI across multiple platforms.
  • Just Get Crunchyroll, or Disney+ (Hulu USA) or Netflix any of these are better

Save your money and time. There’s really nothing here worth your time and money.
  • Great content, horrendous app

I don’t understand how a streaming app can be this bad in 2025 (and has been this bad for years). It’s like the developers have never used a streaming app before. I’ll pay for it for a month once or twice a year because they do have good content… but aye. It’s just a constant headache getting this app to do what I want.
  • Pretty Garbage App

Extremely frustrating, nothing works right, if you want to spend alot of time constantly closing and reopening the app to load an episode this is the app for you.
  • Seriously needs work on the layout and interface

Not much anime, but they do of some nice shows. Now,the actual problem is the whole set up of this app. I hate that episodes don’t continue to play,I have to press that myself. Even if you watch the whole episode through,it will not continue to the next episode for you. Watch list is kinda pointless, you don’t really keep progress on what you are watching. Same for history,it’s a better clue into where you left off in a show at least. It might show you the last episode you watched in history, but you can’t continue watching your show through history. No,have to go back and find your show and remember what was the last episode you watched, that history showed you. Because doesn’t seem to keep track of last episode watched that well 😒. There’s only skip by 30seconds,why can’t I just skip intro or outro? Or skip back slower or faster than 30sec at a time?!?? Kinda lacking in genre tags too, common genre tags you’d normally see else where. They just don’t seem to have many. Now that could be because of less shows, but I still think they could have more genre tags. Another thing,I really don’t like that pause doesn’t immediately pause. You have actually press the pause button to pause,or you might skip back or forwards instead. Overall,if you have a show you wanna watch on here it’s somewhat manageable to watch it on here. But I wouldn’t consider it an enjoyable time, most everything has some big or small problem with it. But it’s doable if you only plan on keeping this app for a very short period, otherwise I’d say with time you’ll just feel angrier and angrier about it’s poor set up. If they fixed some basic mechanics of this app,I might actually enjoy using it. For now it’s best for the handful of anime I want to watch at a time. Cause at the very least,I can technically watch anime through this app. Recommend keeping some kind of list for what anime your on and episodes you watched,to make it less of a nightmare to deal with. 🙁
  • After a few days more experience I must submit a lower review.

If it wasn’t for the things you can only get through HiDive I would not be a buyer. The system is a flop and you will spend an unfortunate amount of time getting around the flaws and incompetent system design.
  • Watchlisted Animes Not Displaying Properly After a Certain Amount

The watchlist feature is awesome and really useful for saving the animes that you start watching but don't finish and end up needing/wanting to come back to (because the continue watching feature ONLY displays and give you access to a random episode that you happened to not finish and NO access to the anime said episode is a part of). And I make full use of the watchlist feature, but it has an issue where after scrolling past like the first 10ish animes that have been added to the watchlist they stop displaying properly and only show you an infinitely repeating set of the next 5ish animes in the watchlist despite however many more animes are actually in the watchlist. Scrolling down to the bottom of this set only makes the set repeat infinitely and theres no way to refresh and access the rest of the animes past that stuck set that in are in the watchlist. TL;DR: The watchlist feature only displays like the first 10-15 animes that are in it and won't display or even let you access the rest no matter how many more are in there. Which is annoying because it's the only consistent method of sorting and finding/finishing animes that you're currently watching.
