  • Overpriced and not great for efficient meal planning

I paid for this app for the last 2 years, and I don’t hate it. It stores recipes and compiles grocery lists based on the exact ingredients of the recipe you assign to the days of the week. It will import recipes from websites too, but that is more than a little buggy. The recipe import often takes multiple tries to work and it doesn’t like fractions (1/4 cup) or apostrophes and will replace these with random symbols. Not the end of the world, except you want $55 PER YEAR for this? It doesn’t even make sense that this is a subscription, let alone such a pricey one. A one time fee of $55 sounds expensive but more in the realm of what it’s actually worth, but every year? The app does not offer new content or features, which would justify a subscription-based fee system. They are charging the same as a digital subscription to the Washington Post… to compile grocery lists. Another thing I don’t love is this style of meal planning. It keeps you in the headspace of needing to plan meals that REQUIRE recipes for each night of the week, which makes it easy to create a lot of food waste and will also jack up your grocery bill. It does not lend itself well to brainstorming meals with ingredients that overlap and use things you already have on hand. If you’re trying to save on groceries and limit food waste, this is not the app for you.

I love this app. Makes it very easy to add recipes from food blogs and edit recipes. Also, available across multiple devices. So convenient! Previously i was using Pinterest boards to keep track of things. Can’t imagine doing that now. This is so seamless.

I've been a Plan to Eat subscriber for several years now and love the convenience of the app for looking up recipe ingredients on the go, quickly adding items to my menu or grocery list, and for crossing items off my grocery list as I shop. The app helps me save money by using it to stick to my list!

So I got this app based on a recommendation from a friend. I literally use it all the time! Saving time by always having my recipes on hand organized and easy to find. We have lots of food allergies and trying new recipes makes it easy to save the delicious and remove the not favorite ones. I can easily plan out all my meals for the week or month, or just find a quick weeknight substitute. It’s the most convenient meal planning and organization app I’ve found!

It makes it easy to store you favorite recipes and organize them. The best is the shopping list for the week.

I’m grateful for this app. I’m not usually very eager about meal planning or cooking. I kind of have to amp myself up and once I manage to do that, I feel like Martha prepping for a show! This app definitely has helped me with that. I just see a recipe I like, drop it in the app and BOOP! The quantities and ingredients are in there along with all the others I need so I’m not writing it out and taking the risk of forgetting an ingredient. Once I get my list IN my fridge, I just pick what days I will cook and its easy to do because I have it all already. I’m not sure if my ways have anything directly to do with being diagnosed with ADHD, but I recommend Plan to Eat for anyone that struggles with the tasks involved with meal planning and grocery shopping.

My husband and I have subscribed to this app for nearly 5 years now. We love the simplicity of uploading recipes, scheduling our meals, and the shopping list generator. Makes it so easy to meal plan. I literally don’t know what we would do without it!

I am new to Plan to Eat, but already it has become so valuable to me! Even if I’m not planning my family’s meals, the shopping feature helps so much. For example, I simply added all of the cookie recipes to one day, and had the app create my shopping list for our annual Christmas cookie baking day. It’s saving me so much time!

I loved it since I first I subscribed to it about 7 years ago. I like that I can add my own as well as recipes I find online. It helps my family eat healthier because I plan out what we’re eating not only for the week, but many times for weeks ahead, and at the same time gives me the flexibility to push a week or swap a meal. It makes me life easier to have it on all my devices so when I need my husband’s help or I’m cooking with my family they can easily access it and help me start or prep. And lastly, the fact that I can earn commission when sharing it with followers, family or friends is a big plus.
