Thank god I ignored the crazy reviews. It’s a scanner, it’s not that serious. It works perfectly.

Would've been nice to know that BEFORE downloading this app.
  • Please just provide regular drivers

This app does nothing special & crashes constantly. Just let us use the system dialog!
  • Great for older printers without Apple Silicon ICA drivers

Yes, the app is rudimentary, but it will scan high quality images to lossless TIFF and do multi-page PDFs. It’s a great app for older printers that don’t have Apple Silicon ICA drivers available and for people who don’t want Rosetta 2 installed. 4 stars instead of 5 because it offers an unsupported resolution (1200x1200 DPI) that causes my scan to hang until cancelled, using a supported 600x600 works correctly.

MFC-J4510DW could not scan after update. I had to download the old version from their website and then reinstall.
  • Poor Options & Documentation

Using with mac OS Monterey and wifi connection. Basic scanning works well - only used to pc and network folder. MFC-L3780DCW. Scans quickly, OCR works fine. Autorotation works well (detects orientation by words / language selectable). Scanning book - no documentation; various paper size (ok), option to set scannable area only appears to support adjustment by about 0.12 inches per side. Online support was professional, but they cannot address lack of dcoumentation and software features.
  • Terrible

This will not work on printers/scanners that are more than about 6 years old. Terrible UI. There’s no reason I shouldn’t be able to scan on my old Brother scanner (I could recently) - it’s just a decision they’ve made to not support older hardware.
  • Shame on Brother!

Brother's software is useless. Fails to connect, fails to function. Constant waste of time and frustration.
