Excellent app for finding campsites when traveling. Super handy on cross country trips
  • App is Fine, Watch for Auto Renewal

The app itself is fine but watch out for the auto renewal. I did not know I was signed up for auto renewal until the day that I was charged. I did not want to renew and canceled immediately and contacted customer service (4 times in the last 6 weeks) requesting a refund and they ghosted me and continue to ghost me. I never have heard back from them. An e-mail communication a few days before the auto renewal letting me know that it was coming due would have been nice/professional.
  • Randomly charged for pro version!!!

Horrible app. First there’s about 10 spots on my whole state. Then they charge you for pro version randomly and say you have to contact Apple. 🤦🏽‍♀️ there’s hundreds of better apps.
  • Greedy sellouts

I have zero issues with apps having some “premium” features behind a subscription in order to make some profit to keep things running. This app used to be a great way to do some pre-scouting when in a new area, and sometimes you could find some really hidden gems. It was awesome getting to see photos and reviews all in one place instead of scouring through websites. The pro features were never a necessity. Now it’s absolutely a joke. You can’t even look at campsite pages or see dispersed options without paying the sub. It’s a useless app and a slap in the face to the outdoor lovers who helped make it great. I never leave app reviews, but decided to for The Dyrt because I’m disgusted with how they’ve changed it.
  • Total garbage

It doesn’t work. There are lots of LARGE dispersed camping spots that aren’t shown. It’s impossible to set filters and look through a list of places. Dispersed camping is NOT camping in designated camping areas, but this app doesn’t know that.
  • Used to rock; now useless.

This used to be a great app for double checking disbursed camping in UT; a quick and free resource check to reviews and make sure where we were staying was safe and secluded. It was never a first-line tool or one-stop shop, but the reviews feature was uniquely helpful. Over time, more and more features have been put behind the ‘pro’ subscription, making the app completely useless for BLM camping. Disbursed sites used to be a feature everyone had but recently those have gone behind a paywall as well. I put up with some of the other features as they seem to try and figure out what we’ll put up with them charging for. Not going to give someone else money for the govn’t’s free campsites. They’ve rolled these features back before so here’s to hoping they give us back the ability to even view disbursed sites.
  • Removed the best free feature

I used to use the Dyrt to find all the best dispersed sites along my way, and they do have a great list and make everything easy. But then recently, they made the dispersed filter a paid only filter, removing the one thing I used the app for. Deleting to find something better.
  • made dispersed camp sites only accessible in pro

I have been so loyal to The Dyrt and recommended to all of my friends but now I won’t. I’m going to use ioverlander now because you’re charging to see dispersed sites which is ridiculous.
  • Useless don’t bother

In order to see any details they make you go pro. Once signing up for the free trial it tells you you need to go pro even though you just did. It is a very frustrating experience to say the least. Look elsewhere if you want a user friendly platform.
  • Gets stuck in looking for free camping when I want to look for any camping location - useless
