    Linguist is the way to accurately correspond with a person in another language. I use it regularly in corresponding with friends and contacts throughout the world. Terrific product!

    I am an American living in Costa Rica and so many times I have received information or imporant documents in Spanish that needed to be translated into English. With a simple copy and paste, I was able to read the document sent to me. Conversely, I am able to translate English into Spanish just as easily. I could not function here as effectively without Linguist.

    The translation ability is fine but the app suffers from a lack of coordination with macOS. For one thing, you cannot move the window; it constantly obscures anything in the background, even when you click the background window. The only way to hide it is to either click the menulet at the top right of the menu bar or click the dock icon. There are no tooltips. In addition, quitting the app causes any text to be lost. When I try to print, a get a message that printing is not possible with this app. Translatium, a free app available at App Store, is much more user-friendly.

    The product is good, a little slow, but ok. However, is there a way to have it at the top next to the menue bar and not in the dock? I like to keep my dock clean and it seems so unnecesary to have it there as well.

    Just about the best I've found. I wish there were more audio voice for pronunciation, but that will come in time, I imagine.
