I was deactivated after over five years and 5,000+ rides because Uber’s photo verification system didn’t recognize me when I cut my hair short. The system flagged me for fraud/account sharing, even though I have never shared my account and always followed the rules. I had more than 2,000 five-star ratings, never had complaints about my identity, and my riders always confirmed I was the right driver. Losing my income over a simple change in appearance is unfair and has caused me a lot of stress. Uber needs a better system for verifying drivers so loyal drivers aren’t punished for minor changes.

Update: new way to scam you out of money. If you wait 10 minutes you’re entitled to $3 excessive wait time if you tell the system. EXCEPT when you agree to keep waiting EVERY TIME you click “keep waiting” it jumps the “cancel” button under your finger and cancels the delivery, no verifying you want to cancel or anything, you waste your time and lose the good delivery you’ve been waiting on. Be prepared for less than 1 request per hour in LA in areas surrounded by businesses that deliver. If a customer orders an item that is not in stock, and there are no replacements (eg literally 0 extension cords in stock) and they don’t want anything else. You lose your bonus for not being able to fulfill invisible inventory. App will randomly stop sending requests. Period. Closing it or restarting your phone doesn’t help. Can be in the best place and not get anything for an hour, then if I LOG out, close app, open it and log back in it immediately sends one request. Then you do it, and it’ll stop sending again until you repeat the process and it’ll send again.

Adding acceptance rate to pro qualifications is the last low blow to the drivers. No one is accepting the $3 for a 20mile drive. So disrespectful to the drivers.

1. The uber maps lag and you want to be in the uber app so you can accept orders as you go. 2. Small robots are taking over short distance deliveries for UberEast while the drivers are still paid the same although there are less orders for drivers to deliver. Find some other job, if I could I would put less starts.

Following in DoorDash footsteps. A new criteria has to be met to get any orders halfway worth accepting. Accept all the $2 for 10 miles or ya don’t get any offers at all… shame others will put up with this. I for one will not

Uber will constantly decrease the pay each year and with all the expenses that comes with driving plus the increase of gas prices it just doesn’t make sense to drive anymore. Get out when you can.
