  • Strong app, challenging for colorblind

So far a fun way to learn guitar, but I’m struggling with the finger lessons which rely on color to match fingers to frets. I’m colorblind and they look the same, especially when scrolling by. Please consider an alternative indicator of which finger goes to which fret for these lessons.
  • Good app, hard to follow when colorblind

This app is fun a fun way to learn guitar and works quite well for me technically. That said, the reliance in the finger sections on color is problematic as it is very difficult for me (colorblind) to tell which finger and note is what color. Please consider adding an alternative for indicating fingers to notes on strings.
  • FIX JSON ERROR

Nothing better than sore fingers and playing thru a course to get 3 stars and at the end it says JSON error and doesn’t save progress. Fix the app for $140 a year lol
  • Doesn’t seem to support USB audio

Maybe I’m missing a setting but it seems like the app requires mic access. I have a USB audio interface that I use in other apps but I don’t see an option here. I don’t usually feel comfortable giving mic permissions if there is a reasonable alternative.
  • Greedy guitar teachers

App is grand. Helpful to learn so I bought the years subscription. Should be noted that there are further up charges to play “famous songs”. Seems sneaky I would have paid if that was clear up front. Weird upsell

I have been playing for just two days now and have never wanted to make my fingers bleed more in my life!! Great app for beginners, with a lot of tips and tricks along the way.

As a beginner I took up my journey with Gibson and the app never fails me. Tons of scales, lessons, favorite songs.
  • Where are my songs?

I love the app and love that new songs are added on you way up but I feel like I’m missing out on the songs I started in level 1. I’d like to see more continuity in the app. Though I still love the app.

  • Great but could easily be better with a couple additions

I love this app! It has one of the best vibes to it and I like the teachers. I also love how it’s rock focused but has other stuff too. I have this and Yousician. Both are good because they listen to you and have huge libraries. This one is more “fun” for some reason and has way better instructors, but Yousician has some key advantages over it (Gibson are you listening???) #1 — Yousician lets you slow down any song you’re learning to 25% and lets you increase the speed at 1% intervals up to 120%. Do you know how big of a deal this is? For those that are learning hard songs, you know that the 50/75/100 speeds Gibson offers are too big of jumps. It would be so easy, I imagine, to make smaller jumps. It makes learning songs on Gibson harder. #2) Why does Gibson insist on making this a phone / ipad app only when they should include it on the PC or Mac too. Yousician does this, and you know what? I really like playing on my big computer monitor much more than looking at a little ipad. It makes the experince so much better, and not to mention, connection options for audio input / output are better from the computer. By forgoing the computer, this app is harder to take seriously. But the content is good, incredible actually, it’s just got those two logistical faults that make me keep my Yousician membership alive. Gibson, will you consider making these two improvements?
