Description

Mutual is the largest and fastest growing dating app for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS/Mormon)! Mutual is a place where single members of the Church can make meaningful connections that lead to real dating. The app was created by BYU grads who know how difficult it can be to meet others with similar interests, beliefs and standards, especially outside of Provo. Mutual offers features that help you get to know other singles beyond their profile photos, by highlighting information such as mission location and interests you share in common with potential matches. The Mutual team is committed to upholding the standards of our faith, and making Mutual a genuine and safe place you can trust. All profiles get reviewed before entering our community. Users are encouraged to verify their profiles before meeting in person to ensure they are who they claim to be. We also make it easy to report inappropriate behavior in the app, to maintain a positive environment for everyone. In the words of Brigham Young, "This is the place." It’s a pretty good app for free. Love is amazing. Everybody has an incredible story on here. Everybody has a different heartbreak of some sort. It’s really amazing to see all these people searching for love. The diversity of situations is humbling. Thanks for your tireless improvement. It’s interesting and I am not succeeding in the Midwest. I think I am doing something wrong. Or maybe I need to move. Not many on here from Illinois.
  • Not a Christian app.

Suspended my profile for not having enough photos. Kinda like a commie app. A true word of god app wouldn’t care how you look but your character and your faith. I don’t recommend this app to Christian’s. Not to mention there’s no one local.

  • Decent app. Outrageously overpriced.

The app works well enough and is pretty good for the LDS dating scene. But the paid version is a rip off in every conceivable world. The scheme of charging extortionate prices for just a week of the advanced version ($14.99! More than a month of Amazon Prime!) to try and get people to buy the lengthier periods is nakedly transparent. And this is despite the fact that buying the longer term options for the paid version don’t work for a lot of people. If the idea is to use the app in the short-term to find someone to date, then you have to pay the ridiculous price for the advanced version for just a week or a month. And let’s be real here, the developers have no incentive to try and get you off the app (as they claim), either in the short term or the long term; that would simply cut into their revenue stream. The other thing is that the free version of the app seems quite limited in its functionality, despite the developers’ claims to the contrary. It seems that suddenly I get a lot more likes and matches when I pay for the advanced version, and it’s not just because I can see who liked me. These semi-shady practices are all quite disappointing from a company that supposedly is run by people who are centered on Gospel principles. If you’re looking for an LDS dating app, you probably should look elsewhere.
  • Good. Could use some extra filters.

I would totally add a few extra functions to make finding my type easier, but it’s not bad.

I’m enjoying the new ability to add photos to chats. I wish there was specific places to have people share how long they’re divorced or widowed. Also how many marriages they have had. I also need help understanding what the rings (11) and tags (15) mean on the first profile picture mean. I would appreciate an explanation. Thanks 😊
