As a poetry writer, this app has helped me grow my vocabulary to help me write more things. This app has also helped me to speak in real time too and sound more professional.
  • French words don’t show up

Since un-toggling spanish and adding french, french words won’t show in my notifications or widget. I have re-installed the app, per their instruction. I enjoy the app, but I wish this bug would get fixed. And I miss the many voice over options.
  • Charged me $32 Without Warning!

This app charged me $32 for a full year on my third day of using it! The free trial ended without any notice. I thought it would charge me $2.99 for a single month, but they in fact charged me for a full year. This is definitely a rude money grab. On top of this, the retention of the vocabulary words is very low for the average user. On top of this, the AI voice that reads the words aloud is not accurate.
  • Appalling Way to Learn Words

Every single thing about this app is designed to push you to pay their exorbitant monthly fee to use it. The free version is just two categories (“Collections” - randomly generated words & “Favorites” - store of words you’ve liked), and the other TWNETY-PLUS are locked behind the pay wall. And honestly? This might actually be excusable, if the Collections actually fed you decent words to learn. But I’m here because the most recent words it suggested I learn included things such as “relevant”, “kind-hearted”, “heartbroken”, and “blondness” (n. having naturally light colored hair). Like ????????? I’m coming here to expand my vocabulary and THIS is what is being served up??? Maybe for the first week it was providing decent words, and then took a shocking nose dive where I’m having to scroll for maybe 15+ words to find one that would be something new or useful to learn. Save yourself the trouble.

I would like a feature that allows me remove a word from the list as I already know the word and don’t want it to reappear. And based on that, gradually gives me more words I am unfamiliar with.

I love this app! But it a little to complicated, or I might just be a boomer. After you go to your liked words how do I go apback and scroll on the normal words? Like after I get to the liked words I can’t go to go see new words I didn’t see before. Please help me :c

Why does a vocabulary app need to be spying on you 24/7? That’s what it does. When you are doing something it will pop up a word that corresponds with what you are doing!
