  • Stupid don’t buy

When I bought it for my family, I thought it would be amazing. However after I finish setting it up, it did not even work. So later I just returned it and got my money back.
  • App won’t work

    By clayzee100
Used to work intermittently. Then one day premium features were gone. I paid for annual service... I tried resetting and backing up. Finally deleted the app and redownloaded and now it is locked up. I cannot find an email or phone number on their website to contact support. At this time it’s not functional.
  • Doesn’t do what it advertises

    By Saadeh82
How do I go about getting a refund for a product that doesn’t do what’s advertised. Support is basically nill, just sent to NETGEAR who gave the very helpful “try restarting it”.
  • Amazing from Day 1

I think the bulk of the bad reviews are either from people who are computer illiterate or from teenagers who are upset that their parents are filtering their Wifi. I’ve had Circle for about 2 years now and never have I had a problem. One of my favorite features is how it alerts you if a new device joins your network and will automatically filter it to the “Home” profile. That way, my kids (or their friends) can’t sneak a device into our home WiFi without us knowing. As stated by many other people, Circle is. It a babysitter and does not take the place of teaching your kids how to be responsible it it a very valuable tool to help control what comes into your home.

  • Not worth the trouble

I have been using this for a while now and every time the app has an issue it creates problems throughout the WiFi network. If you have kids linked through then it will prevent updates to their iPads. Updates to apps and you have to move their restrictions around just to get it done. The app also will get confused and treat adult accounts or home accounts just like the kids accounts. This app causes major issues with Orbi one being it will slow down the network speed dramatically. I have tried it with and without and the Circle app slows the net down up to 15% and if you use roku or Apple TV streaming that 15% makes a difference. If you are using Orbi you are better off using the built in controls as opposed to this temperamental hunk of code.
  • Cheating

I bought netgear router for some of the advertised parental control features. I set up Circle and only to know that i need to pay $49/year to enable them. This is cheating. Should file lawsuit against Netgear and Disney.
  • App useless if 2 devices are used.

    By emkayb
If your child listens to music on his IPad while doing homework on his computer for 2 hours, this app will aggregate the time and show 4 hours of usage. ???! It’s ridiculous that the app cannot account for this. Makes it useless to us

First off, in my opinion this app doesn’t help kids grow or let me parent. If you just limit amounts of WiFi time, kids can still use their screens. Often, apps have an option to download content, allowing them to view it offline. Second, just limiting their time doesn’t teach them anything. My daughter just feels a need to not waste her time, making her go on more than she would naturally. I found a more effective way to teach my children life skills. When I feel they should take a break then I give them ideas of what to do, this helps them learn to be entertained in a different way. There should also be a partner app for the kids so they can monitor how much time they have and can use it wisely. Third, my kids often have schoolwork online, and who wants to waste WiFi time for fun stuff on homework. They often try to do it really quickly, skipping on quality. If i allow them to do their homework later they sometimes have already run out of time. The filter and tracking is the only thing i don’t hate, besides the fact that it is very glitchy and wrong. In the end this app isn’t to help you parent it lets you avoid parenting all together. A second partner app would be beneficial to allow kids to know how much time they have left. However, i will be uninstalling.
